AIU hosts CalcuSolve competition

More than 400 high school students in Allegheny County competed in CalcuSolve, a math tournament sponsored by the II-VI Foundation, at Duquesne University on Oct. 11-12. Students completed two team math problems and seven individual questions. Prizes were awarded to the top students in both the individual and team categories. With a growing understanding that math and science education is vital to academic and career success, this yearly event tests students’ problem-solving skills in math.
