Eight students headed to states for history-based tournament

Students from Bald Eagle Area High School won at the National History Day Region 5 competition held in February at Lock Haven University. This makes them eligible to compete at the state tournament on May 10-11 in Carlisle.

Sophomore Meghan Ishler took first place with her individual documentary on the on the U.S. Supreme Court case Engel vs. Vitale. Classmates Amayah Fogelman and Julia Patcyk also placed first in the documentary category with their film on Mississippi University for Women vs. Hogan.
Freshman Kamryn Martin placed second with her individual website on “Small Pox in the New World.”

Cora Bulles, Dylan Hartley, Emily Ream and Rosalie Sowers additionally placed first in the Group Exhibit category with their display on “The Atomic Bomb, My God What Have We Done?”
