The student-built house was awarded five Division I honors from the Home Builders Association of Berks County, including Best of Show, Best Interior, Best Exterior, Best Bath, and Best Kitchen. Construction of the 2,332-square-foot Cape Cod-style home, was supervised by instructors from both BCTC campuses, and students had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and apply knowledge during every step of the home development process. From this experience, BCTC students enter the workforce prepared to make a valuable contribution to an employer or continue their education.

The home was featured in the local Parade of Homes and supplemental open houses were also held. The house was sold by auction on Aug. 12and proceeds will benefit BCTC students by offsetting the cost of updated equipment and technology as well as supplies and materials for the next house project.
