Students involved in Future Business Leaders of America at Bald Eagle Area High School placed at the FBLA State Leadership Conference. One student, Luke Wilson, placed first making him eligible to compete at the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio.
Winners from BEA
• Cameron Cody: 10th place in Agribusiness
• Emily Shiels: Ninth place in Journalism
• Luke Wilson: Frist place in 3D Animation
This is Wilson’s second consecutive year placing first at states and moving on to the national competition. Last year, he placed first at states in the Public Service Announcement category and went to nationals in Baltimore.
This year, Wilson, a junior, created a 3D animation about natural disasters that occurred in the past year and the different ways of volunteering or donating to help people affected by those disasters. It included the flooding on the East Coast, wildfires in California and the dust storm in India.
Wilson said the project took him about 300 hours to complete.
