Three Bellefonte Area School District students winners in poster contest, three named honorable mentions

Three fifth-grade students from Bellefonte Area School District have artwork featured in the 2020 calendar by the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, including the calendar cover created by a Pleasant Gap Elementary School Student.

They are:

-Emma Burger, Marion-Walker Elementary School
-Chloe Hartswick, Benner Elementary School
-Riley Santostefano, Pleasant Gap Elementary School

Honorable mentions:

-Maya Patel, Benner Elementary School
-Hailey Vinnedge, Pleasant Gap Elementary School
-Alyssa Weiss, Marion Walker Elementary School

This fall, CCRRA teamed up with Weis Markets to hold its annual poster contest open to all fifth-grade students in the county. With a theme “Feeding our Friends,” 16 posters were selected – among “hundreds” of entries, according to CCRRA education coordinator Amy Schirf.
