“Know before you go.” That’s the theme to this year’s Paint the Plow competition through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. And again, PennDOT District 2 has offered schools in its region the chance to be represented on a plow to help promote driver safety this winter. Schools participating this year are from Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Juniata, McKean, Mifflin and Potter counties. High school principal Mike Fedisson said the plow assigned to Bellefonte Area is one painted by students in the school’s Safety Committee. Those students worked together to develop an idea, sketch and paint the plow. They included students Natalie Book, Isabella Corman, Owen Knisely, Max Kroell, Evan McMullen, Keeli Pighetti and Olivia Reiter. “Each plow is intended to be used in the district where each school district is located,” Fedisson said.
