Students from Beaver Falls Middle School participated in Penn State Beaver’s first Women in STEM Education (W.I.S.E. Up) Day

A select group of seventh-grade students from Beaver Falls Middle School participated in Penn State Beaver’s first Women in STEM Education (W.I.S.E. Up) Day in May. Participants experienced hands-on learning in the field of biology, chemistry, engineering and computer science. They also had the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of made up of female STEM professionals. The purpose of the event is to expose girls to careers in STEM fields and to encourage them to pursue their goals and be leaders.
