Chambersburg Area High School’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) is helping high- achieving students advance their post-graduation goals. CASHS is one of 18 schools in PA that offer the program, which adheres to an internationally recognized college preparatory curriculum. According to the IB mission statement, the program’s goal is the “development of inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who in turn will help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.”

Participants are required to make a commitment to the IB program in their sophomore year and must complete some specific classes, including honors courses, before admittance. In addition to academic rigor, the students must dedicate themselves to extracurricular activities including community service. Seven CASHS seniors will graduate from the program this year and will receive an IB and a CASHS diploma.
