The Colonial Middle School had the greatest percentage increase in fundraising efforts.

The Colonial Middle School (CMS) Best Buddies Chapter had the privilege of leading more than 1000 participants in the 2019 Philadelphia Best Buddies Walk held at the King of Prussia Mall on April 28.

“The walk was interesting and fun,” said CMS student Taeshawn Johnson. “I enjoyed meeting others from different schools.”

CMS Best Buddies earned the honor by having the greatest percentage increase in fundraising efforts, bringing in more than $1,800 to support Best Buddies in the Philadelphia area. The money will be used for new school programs, adult buddy programs and to help grow job programming.

“We participated in fun activities,” said CMS student Laura Makoid. “The walk was helpful in including others.”

The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the number one walk in the country for raising awareness and funds to support inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
