East Penn SD wins first place at international competition

image East Penn computer science teamEmmaus High School’s American Computer Science League (ACSL) team won first place in the invitational All-Star contest held in CA this year. According to an article on the school’s website, Emmaus’ Senior-5 team of Bradley Klemick, Ben Luo, Jie Luo, Ian Bowler and Nathan Walls competed among the top 18 schools internationally including five national colleges from Croatia and Romania, six magnet schools for science and technology, and three private academies. They won with 108 out of a total of 120 points possible. The team competed in two events – Programming Problems and Short Problems. The East Penn SD’s Intermediate-5 team also took seventh place at the competition. The first-place team received individual plaques and t-shirts as well as a Kindle, which they donated to the high school library for the entire student body to use.
