West Forest first-graders author book

While learning about the writing process last fall, students in Mrs. Alex’s first-grade class at West Forest School wrote and illustrated their own book called If I Were an Animal. Each student was responsible for writing the copy for one page of the book and completing an illustration to accompany the text. Art teacher Miss Mazur illustrated the book’s cover and title pages. The finished product was celebrated at a “publishing party” to which the students’ families and school administrators were invited. See more details on the district’s Facebook page.
