Recent visitors to Evergreen Elementary were a little more scaly, feathery and spiny than usual, according to a recent article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The black rat snake, a barn owl and a South American prehensile-tailed porcupine came via Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium’s Zoomobile and its “The Choice is Ours” program. In addition to learning about the animals, students were quizzed on environmental conservation and discussed how people can make choices that have a more positive impact on wildlife.
