Common Grounds Cafe a gathering place for staff, students

This year, Harbor Creek High School opened Common Grounds Cafe in the Library Commons. The cafe is under the direction of library media specialist Chris Peters and learning support teacher Amy VandeMerwe. Common Grounds Cafe is open each morning prior to school starting and is a place for students to grab a beverage and spend time with their friends before the morning bell. The cafe is run by VandeMerwe’s learning support students who take orders, make beverages and essentially run the business. This initiative has been a huge success thanks to the efforts of all involved.
