Hempfield Quiz Bowl team ties for twelfth place at championship tournament

Hempfield High School’s Quiz Bowl Team competed at the 2019 High School Championship Tournament (HSNCT) National Academic Quiz Tournament (NAQT)’ in Atlanta, Georgia on May 24-26, tying for twelfth place in the nation against 336 teams. This was Hempfield’s first time competing at the HSNCT.
The Hempfield High School Quiz Bowl Team is made up of William Yaeger (grade 12), Ryan Zhang (grade 12), Nishant Balepur (grade 12), and Carsten Brodbeck (grade 10).
“The Hempfield community should be quite proud of how these young men represented the district in all facets of the competition,” commented Hempfield High School Quiz Bowl faculty advisor John Frick.
