Jakob Dixon, ICTC Student Wins Gold at SkillsUSA Championships in the Sheet Metal Event

The 56th Annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference was held on June 22-26, 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky. This event showcases the skills of career and technical education students from across the United States and more than 18,000 people are expected to participate in the weeklong event. Part of this event is the SkillsUSA Championships which were held on June 26th and June 27th with more than 6,500 career and technical education students competing in 103 different trades. All of the students were required to win their state contest to qualify and compete at the SkillsUSA Championships.

We are proud to announce that Jakob Dixon, a junior enrolled in the Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning program at the Indiana Career Technology Center, won a gold medal in the Sheet Metal event. This was an opportunity for Jakob to showcase his abilities on a national stage and demonstrate his skills to the students, teachers and business partners participating in the event.

Jakob’s performance would not have been possible without hard work and support from his instructor Mr. Dennis Mumau. The Indiana County Technology Center is proud of Jakob’s accomplishment and the way he represented our community.
