Iroquois SD wins grant to enhance substance abuse prevention efforts

Thanks to a $625,000 federal grant, Iroquois SD is planning new programming for drug and alcohol abuse training and prevention. According to an article in Erie Times-News, The district and local communities Lawrence Park and Wesleyville organized the Positive Youth Development One Family coalition three years ago to combat substance abuse. The group draws together educators and education administrators with police, parents, students and other community members to address and prevent substance abuse and provide support for those affected. The new grant will provide needed resources to accompany the group’s motivation to help their community.
