Keystone Central cares for community

Students, faculty and administrators in Keystone Central SD engaged in charitable giving throughout December as part of the #KeystoneCares program. Started in fall 2016, the program features a monthly theme and encourages the local community to partner with the district in its efforts to improve life for children and families in the area. Students from Bucktail High and Renovo Elementary participated in a toy drive while Central Mountain Middle School’s Positive School Wide Behavior program collected almost 2,000 food items for local food banks. Central Mountain High School Rotary-Interact Club and other senior students volunteered as bell ringers for the Salvation Army and the school’s Key Club donated books and pajamas to children in the Infant Development Program. Related month-long activities included collections for the SPCA, card-writing to deployed military and fundraisers for the backpack program, which provides food for needy students.
