Elementary School rocks positive behavior reward program

West Jefferson Hills School District  |  Posted on

McClellan Elementary School introduced a School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention & Support plan (SWPBIS) to teach students about the district’s core values of Respect, Empathy and Integrity and to reward positive behaviors.

Whenever students display positive behavior, a staff member gives them a “Rock Star Cash” coupon and the students write their name on it and place their cash coupons in a bin located in the school office. As the students place their coupons in to the bin, they must be prepared to talk about the positive behavior they displayed to earn their cash coupons.

At the end of each month, 4 Rock Star Students are picked from each K-2 grade. Those 12 students enjoy a Rock Star Luncheon with Principal Liberatore (donated by Yoli’s Pizza), and a Rock Star photo shoot. Student photos are showcased in the school’s “Rock Star Hall of Fame” for the rest of the year. Congratulations, McClellan Rock Stars!
