Some students entering grades 1-6 at Meyersdale Area Elementary got a unique educational boost over the summer. The district created a 16-Day Multi Adventure Challenge Summer Camp, four weeks of aptitude learning using creative themes. According to an article in the district newsletter, the event focused on exposing students to a variety of fun, immersive learning experiences. Each week of the program had a different theme including Mad Science; Build, Learn and Explore; and Strong Bodies, Strong Minds. The students also reviewed math and reading skills using games designed to test their knowledge from the previous academic year and introduce new skills. The program was funded by a competitive grant through the Division of Federal Programs.
