Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
The importance of unity and working together is an important aspect in any club or activity. The National Honor Society of East Juniata High School is a group of students motivated to improve the school and community atmosphere. The NHS selection follows the following criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These are the characteristics that students should display in order to be considered for NHS.

This year the NHS advisers, Jana Snyder and Amanda Lightner, are pushing the NHS to increase the influence the students have on the school and community. Along with the officers, they are making positive changes to encourage more people to be motivated to do well. Future projects include a food drive, baking cookies for families, and activities with the elementary school children.

Students, with the help of Mrs. Snyder, even felt inspired to encourage the principals with gifts and baked goods for National Principals Month in October. Gifts were presented to Mrs. Jerrehain and Mr. Sliski for all of their hard work. On November 18, The NHS and NJHS welcomed new members. The induction was a positive reflection of East Juniata High School. Inductees were recognized for their activities and positive attitudes. Overall, the members of NHS want to shine a positive light on the good things East Juniata is doing. With the help of advisers, the NHS hopes to be a beacon of light to the Juniata County area.
