First- through third-graders at Jefferson Elementary School in North Pocono SD are expanding their language skills and their world with a new, 10-week Spanish language learning program. According to an article in the Times-Tribune, the curriculum is taught by the Advanced Placement Spanish teacher at the district’s high school, with assistance from some of her high school students. Through playing games, singing songs and other methods, the younger students are picking up Spanish words and phrases that may open doors to other opportunities in the future.
