Northern Cambria Students Vist to PSU College of Engineering

On December 6th, students from Northern Cambria High School traveled to Penn State University, Main Campus in State College to learn about PSU’s College of Engineering. These high school students received a guided tour from two senior Engineering Ambassador students who took them on a walking tour through the engineering buildings and explained the various and diverse engineering majors. Everything from aerospace, mechanical, architectural, chemical, geological, and computer engineering. After the tour was complete, students were able to meet with Ryan Solnosky, a 2004 graduate of NCHS and an assistant teaching professor in structural and architectural engineering, who took students on a detailed tour of the structural engineering testing labs. The final part of the day,  students were able to walk around the Bryce Jordan Center among the hundreds of the senior Capstone Engineering projects. These projects are the conclusion of engineering students college career, where they complete a research project that is sponsored by a corporation or an organization to solve a specific problem.
