In 2015, the Northern York Co. girls finished fourth at the District 3 Class AA cross country championships — one spot away from making it to the state meet. In 2016, Northern York not only qualified for states, but also won the District 3 AA team title, placing fifth in the state. This year, the team’s is focused on “being successful in their running, and to make a difference in their community, going on to be successful in life,” according to Coach Al Houser. Teammates are focused on injury prevention and keeping healthy: hydrating, stretching, eating good food and getting good rest. The team would like to win their division and finish better at states this year. The girls work hard and have great attitudes and as they begin their campaign to the state cross country meet.
