Oley Valley students become senators for a day

On October 13, 2017, Social Studies Teacher, Mr. Scott Snyder, took a team of six students to The Perkiomen School to participate in the Senator-for-a-Day seminar. The seminar was hosted by Senator Bob Mensch of the Pennsylvania Senate. During the day students had the opportunity to participate in a mock senate in an attempt to craft and pass bills into law on a variety of topics. Students learned about the responsibilities and obligations of a legislator and also had the opportunity to network with peers.
