Otto-Eldred takes first place in environmental competition

Otto-Eldred High School students put their environmental knowledge to the test and came out on top overall in a local competition. Six five-member teams from McKean and Cameron counties competed in the 28th annual “Wild” Envirothon held in Smethport. According to an article in The Bradford Era, The teams used their knowledge of natural resources and critical thinking skills to solve real-world problems in five areas – forestry, wildlife, soil and land use, aquatics, and agricultural soil and water conservation stewardship. The leading teams from both counties also competed in the state-level competition May 23-24 at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
