Parkway student wins first place in national SkillsUSA competition

image of Christina WalterChristina Walter, a student at Moon Area High School and Parkway West Career and Technology Center, earned a first-place win at the National SkillsUSA competition in Louisville, KY. Walker, a student in Parkway’s Health Assistant program, won the top honor in the Health Occupations Professional Portfolio category. As part of the contest, Walter created a health occupations portfolio which was judged by a panel, and she was required to give an oral presentation to the judges. More than 6,000 students competed in 100 different trade, technical and leadership fields during the competition, including 20 other state representatives in Walter’s category.
