Pequea was closed for the 2015-16 school year as workers completed the project, which included expanding the main lobby; adding two academic commons areas for instruction; enlarging and upgrading the kitchen; renovating the library and playground; and upgrading mechanical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and lighting systems.

The school’s exterior, classrooms and halls also were renovated, and school bus and vehicle drop-off areas were improved to increase safety. In addition, the parking lot was expanded, and natural lighting was increased throughout the building.
