Program helps students chart paths to the future

A new online portfolio system is helping students in Penns Valley Area SD monitor their progress toward personal goals. The system, called “Live It” is described as a LinkedIn for students, in an article in the Centre Daily Times. Students can enter their activities such as classes, sports and other extracurricular activities, and community service, giving them the opportunity to connect these things with college and/or career goals they may have in the future. The portfolio remains online for students to use with potential employers or educational institutions. To teach the fifth-graders how to use the program, high school seniors from the Honors English class visited the intermediate school and demonstrated how to navigate the system. The older students shared ideas for how they have used it and what activities they are involved in to expose the younger students to what is available at the high school level.
