Bright Horizons opens child care center at Pequea Valley Intermediate School

Parents and officials from Pequea Valley and Bright Horizons celebrated the opening of a child care center at Pequea Valley Intermediate School on September 20, 2018. Bright Horizons child care center in Gap closed on June 8, 2018, leaving many families without child care. “We really wanted to reach out and do whatever we could to find a solution for them and our community, because obviously that means a lot to us,” Assistant Superintendent Rich Eby said. The school district offered space at the intermediate school, which had almost a full wing available since moving sixth grade back into the elementary schools in 2014-15. Bright Horizons received state approval and opened Aug. 13. A playground also will be added for the child care center’s use; the school district will pay for a surrounding fence.
