Salisbury Elementary tests Google Pioneer VR program

Pequea Valley’s Salisbury Elementary recently participated in Google’s Pioneer program. Each learner from K-6 had the opportunity during their daily scheduled special’s time to participate with their class in a new technology being developed by Google called Google Expeditions AR (augmented reality). Google Expeditions AR allows learners to explore 3D models of content being discussed during a lesson, creating a strong connection to content through active engagement. The fourth-grade lesson on photosynthesis allowed students to place themselves inside of a plant cell to discover the parts of the cell that are involved in making photosynthesis happen. Other lessons students of different grades were able to explore included: probability and statistics, cells, photosynthesis, landforms, modes of transportation and animal adaptations.
