Senior Alexis Hassinger Recipient of Bellefonte Garden Club Scholarship

CPI senior Alexis Hassinger, of the Bellefonte Area School District, is the recipient of a $250 scholarship from the Bellefonte Garden Club. This is the second year the garden club has provided a CPI student with funding.

The Bellefonte Garden Club regularly collaborates with the Landscaping and Horticulture program at Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology, and aims to support students who thrive in the field of study.

Hassinger was nominated by instructor Joe Luther, and plans to attend Penn College of Technology in Williamsport to pursue a degree in plant production. The scholarship criteria requires nominees to continue workforce or education in the landscape or horticulture industries.

During a surprise ceremony, Hassinger was honored the night of April 17. She will receive a graduation check during CPI graduation May 31.
