Student-run clothing store builds skills

“Common Threads” isn’t just a clothing store, it’s a learning lab for students with special needs at Stroudsburg High School. All of the clothing is donated by the school’s faculty and staff and students are responsible for selling it and helping people shop as they enter the store. Proceeds from the store will go to help students with special needs transition into the workforce through job and life skills training. In a recent article on the WNEP website, Heather Nowosad, transition coordinator at the schools says that the project was started with the intent to help students develop soft skills that employers are looking for.
