TRIBE – Teaching Resiliency to Individuals by Experience

Pequea Valley’s outdoor education course known as the TRIBE (Teaching Resiliency to Individuals By Experiences) completed their culminating trip in mid-May. Despite four days of rain, the learners toured the battlefield of Gettysburg, and then backpacked for four days on the Appalachian Trail, carrying all their own gear and food. Despite the final segment of the trail approaching Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, being covered by the flooded Potomac River after all of the rain, the learners were able to get to transportation and arrive in Harpers Ferry via vehicle to tour the historic town. This photograph is of the entire group at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Headquarters in Harpers Ferry.
