Through our 21st Century Teaching and Learning Initiative the SD of Upper Dublin is developing programs and resources to support personalized learning, engagement, rigor, achievement, and the development of 21st-century skills and literacies. Our redesigned middle school technology education curriculum provides all students with a foundation in contemporary skills including scaffolding experiences with productivity tools, data analysis, photo and video editing, web design, programming/coding, app design, engineering, design thinking, and computational thinking. This fall, expansion of elementary device access is empowering collaborative research, formative assessment and personalization across disciplines. At the high school level, because of our 1:1 technology program, we have been able to decommission two library computer labs. These are being transformed into a robotics lab, and a makerspace. The makerspace will be designed to support project-based learning across disciplines, with student access to green screen equipment, Osmo and GoPro cameras, virtual reality expedition equipment, and 3D printers.
