STEM learning starts early in Wissahickon SD

Elementary students in Wissahickon School District are getting an early exposure to STEM learning. At Stony Creek Elementary second-graders in Mrs. Neff’s class celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a STEM-related activity called “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” named after the author’s famous book. The students constructed their own maze and then discussed where they thought it would take them. Students at Blue Bell Elementary completed an activity using Ozobots – programmable toy robots used to teach the basics of coding. Teams of students practiced coordinates and cardinal directions as they raced each other. To see a video on this and other activities in the district, visit the Wissahickon Facebook page.
