A Very Perry Christmas

A Very Perry Christmas has become an annual tradition in the Commodore Perry School District. Its purpose is for students, staff, and the Board to show appreciation for the important role that the Commodore Perry senior citizens play in supporting the district and its students. It also aligns with our focus on kindness and compassion that was introduced through Rachel’s Challenge.

This year, senior guests were treated to refreshments, entertainment, and handmade cards and crafts from students. Special musical selections of the season were shared by the high school band and choir. An extra special treat was added this year to the absolute delight of the senior guests. Prior to the start of the program, kindergarten students proudly showed off their newly-learned literary skills as they read Christmas stories to enamored guests.

As appreciative guests “donned their winter apparel” and made their ways toward the doors, they were bid a fond farewell through a tunnel of first graders who sang and shouted “Merry Christmas!” It’s was a Very Merry Perry Christmas indeed!
