Abington Heights wins medals in statewide science tournament

Congratulations to the Abington Heights team that participated in the 2019 PA Science Olympiad State Tournament at Juniata College in Huntingdon PA. Team members included: Nick Lombardi, Lauren Ludwikowski, Katya Williams, Morghan Stiles, Spencer Dana, Himani Patel, Alex Thornton, Jenna Patel, Faatihah Nayeem, Rory Harris, Lauren Ludwikowski, Gavin Ross, Hanna White, Jakob Quanbeck and Elif Onat. Students participated in 23 different STEM events and competed against 36 of the state’s best Science Olympiad teams. State medal winners were: Second Place in Fossils – Gavin Ross; Third Place in Sounds of Music – Katya Williams & Jakob Quanbeck. Division B state medals winners were: Second Place in Trial Event – Joshua Parfrey and Nick Deremer; Third Place in Roller Coaster – Ryan Salony and Nick Deremer; Fourth Place in Potions and Poisons – Paige Watt and Ryan Salony; and Sixth Place in Herpetology – Ryan Salony and Lydia Hodge.
