Middle school students practicing American Sign LanguageStudents at Baldwin-Whitehall SD’s Harrison Middle School recently began a sign language club with a great turn out. Some students were interested in learning sign language for the first time, while others had some prior knowledge of the language and wanted to practice. Early meetings enabled students to review the alphabet in American Sign Language as well as learning how to sign their names. Over the school year, students will continue to learn conversational sign language and interact with their peers at the meetings using ASL.
