Students participate in the annual College and Career Fair at the Corry Area High School.

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, Corry Area Middle-High School hosted a successful College and Career Fair. The fair runs during the school day, which allows all students in grades 10-12 to explore a variety of post-secondary options. The district recognizes the obstacles that might get in the way of students attending the fair in the evening and removes those barriers by having the fair during school hours. Parents also are invited to attend the fair along with their child. There were 72 representatives from all branches of the military, local businesses, two-year technical and business schools, four-year colleges and universities, as well as lending institutions in attendance. The day before the fair, students received a list of everyone that would be in attendance, a diagram of which table they would be at, as well as sample questions to ask the colleges and businesses. Students walk away from this experience with more knowledge of the options they have for their future plans and the confidence to speak on their own behalf.
