District doubling up on math

Easton Area School District  |  Posted on

Sixth-graders at Easton Area SD will have a double period in math this year in an effort to give students more support, improve outcomes, and smooth the transition from elementary to middle school. According to an article in the Morning Call, the students will rotate between spending time with the teacher, working individually, and working in a group with other students. They will use iPads frequently during the individual time. Administrators have added more teachers and eliminated a study hall to allow for the additional math time. The station rotation model is also being used as several other districts in the Lehigh Valley.
