Elementary students create family newsletter

A group of third- through fifth-graders at Lynch-Bustin Elementary School is creating a monthly, “kid-friendly” newsletter to inform families of the activities happening in their schools — from a student perspective. According to the district’s newsletter, the students meet weekly to brainstorm ideas, plan interviews and review past issues to see how they can improve their newsletter. Using Chromebooks, the group researches content, finds illustrations and types up articles for the publication. In the process of building the publication, they are honing their typing, computing, interviewing and writing skills.
