Students benefit from community arts practitioners

Students in Frazier SD and several other school districts in the region are benefitting from a partnership between local artists and their schools. The Rural Arts Collaborative Program places professional practicing artists in local schools for a temporary, usually year-long, tenure during which they teach students their art form. Lead teachers from participating schools work alongside the artists during the project-based learning experience. Students in the program have produced a variety of materials from mosaics to theater performances. Frazier students collaborated with students in two other nearby districts on a mosaic mural made of glass and ceramic tiles, which is displayed in the local community.
