An East Side fishing adventure

East Side Elementary School Principal Frank Frontino is making an effort to encourage students who need a positive male role model in their lives. As a former industrial arts/technology teacher, football, and baseball coach, Frontino understands the importance of hands-on learning. He says data shows that children with involved fathers are more likely to get better grades, like and attend school, and participate in extracurricular activities. He is working to provide support for those students who may not have that advantage.

This fall, Frontino took a small group of students on a fishing trip outside of the city. He hopes to expand the program and is currently working on an opportunity for students to be outdoors and work with their hands on building projects.
