Over the course of this year, the district will be identifying project-based learning opportunities that focus on our watersheds and the environment.

The district is working closely with the Lebanon city mayor, and have also brought other partners to the planning table, including Harrisburg Area Community College, Sweep the Streets and Junior Achievement. Representatives from City Council, county commissioners, state representatives, and parent representatives from each building were invited to be present at the project launching event. The district is planning future opportunities for parents/guardians to get involved in the project as well.

At the rally, the city announced it had received a $94,000 grant from the PA Department of Environmental Protection to plant trees and grass, and Lebanon is one of the 15 national finalists for a $100,000 to help bring the enviro-friendly education to life.
