Library makerspace program launches at Mountville Elementary

John Bratton, representing the Lancaster County School Retirees, presented Sarah DeMaria, Mountville Elementary School librarian, with a check for $500 to start a makerspace pilot in the elementary library. DeMaria calls her program #10M2M — 10 Minutes 2 Make. She has already started the program by using materials like old VHS tapes, toothpicks, and other types of circuitry and coding tools to create activities for students. The grant money will be used to purchase additional materials for the makerspace with the goal of formulating recommendations for a model to implement in other district elementary buildings.
