Hempfield Marching Knights named Cavalcade Yankee Open Class Champions

On November 9, 2019 the Hempfield Marching Knights (HMK) were named Yankee Open Class Champions for a third consecutive year at the Cavalcade Marching Band Championships in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The 92 marching band members performed their 2019 field show “To Show Your Strength” and put on a performance that was strong, vulnerable, and passionate – featuring amazing intention and connection.

In a very close competition with several other outstanding bands, HMK was named Cavalcade Yankee Open Class Champions – taking first place and winning the goal medal with a score of 97.1. The Marching Knights were also given awards for High Visual, High Music, and High Effect, and will be in possession of the Yankee Champion traveling trophy for the third consecutive year.
