Recently, 20 Hempfield School District students, including four middle school students from both Centerville and Landisville middle schools, completed their seventh year as an affiliate of the Student Television Network (STN). Students and advisors returned from Nashville and the national STN competition and convention in mid-March where the following awards were announced:
● Landisville Middle School students won second place nationally in the October fall challenge. This was the first middle school national award for Hempfield School District in broadcasting.
● Hempfield Happenings won the Broadcast Excellence award for its region in monthly broadcast. This is the third time they won this award in the past four years.
● Senior Kayleigh Gallagher earned third place for editing, representing Hempfield’s second editing award (previously won by Clay Gingrich in 2012).
