Jenkintown image music educationStudents from Jenkintown High School traveled to Harrisburg this month as part of Music in Our Schools Month to tell our representatives first-hand how vital music education is to public schools. In Jenkintown, the music program is popular and well-loved. With only 600 students in the entire school district, more than 150 students in the high school alone are enrolled in music programs! In addition to performing in the Capitol Rotunda, two students, Marielle Zakrzwski and Caitlin Frazee, spoke about how important music and theater programs are to them and their fellow students… even those who won’t be pursuing music as a career.
