Every fall and spring, the Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy holds a stock market competition to teach students about the stock market and prepare them for financial success in their personal and professional lives. The competition runs 10 weeks and is split into Elementary, Middle, and High School divisions. Students may choose stocks from the USA markets of NASDAQ, New York and American exchanges.

Sophie J., Fiona M., and Lila R. competed in the Elementary category with a hypothetical portfolio of $100,000 to invest. Throughout the challenge, they earned an additional $17,011.38 to take first place in the state! The students won $100 for their efforts.
