Ligonier Valley students graduate high school with an associate degree

Thanks to a partnership between Ligonier Valley (LV) SD and Westmoreland County Community College, some students are graduating high school and with an associate degree. According to an article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the district’s College Now program allows students to earn college credits for approved honor and advanced placement courses and supplement those with online or in-person classes from WCCC. Students can earn credits at a discounted rate, and some qualify for grants that the high school provides. The program is so popular that 10 percent of this year’s high school graduating class have also earned an associate degree.
